Meet the 2023 Field Ambassadors

Our Field Ambassadors are back for the summer! Our team of ambassadors are out and about across New York City talking about our campaigns, activism, and work in all five boroughs.

Be sure to say hi if you see TA’s Field Ambassadors out this season!

They’ll be out talking to neighbors about the need to fix Canal Street, calling on DOT to give more space on the Queensboro Bridge to people, advocating for a safe Boston Road in the Bronx, demanding a better Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, and urging the city to restore Staten Island’s Bank Street — and more!

Emily Jacobi

Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Emily Jacobi is the Field Team Coordinator with Transportation Alternatives. Passionate about reclaiming streets for people, Emily is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Master of City and Regional Planning. Emily has worked on neighborhood and streets planning initiatives in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Tirana, Albania. Emily is an avid “middle distance” biker and enjoys writing poetry in her spare time. You can find her biking around Brooklyn listening to early 2000s pop music.

Nabiha Nasir

Jackson Heights, Queens

Nabiha is extremely passionate about equitable public transit and urban infrastructure. She is excited to be a part of the field team this season and work towards safer and more enjoyable commutes for NYC residents. Nabiha also seeks to explore more cities around the country and world that exemplify these principles. In her free time, she enjoys indoor gardening and building aquariums.

Favorite TA campaign? #MoreSpaceQBB

Favorite NYC Street: 74th Street, Jackson Heights

Alex De Rege

Alex de Rege is the baddest 😎😎 member of the field team. They get up to groundbreaking outdoors activities like breaking their toe skateboarding and sweating. Things they enjoy: espousing their love of urban agriculture and how less cars can mean more urban agriculture. Things they hate: when people say Little Neck is not a part of Queens. On any weekend, you can catch them scavenging for a nice rug or lamp.

Favorite TA campaign?: All things Queens, especially  #MoreSpaceQBB

Favorite NYC Street: Willoughby Avenue, Brooklyn

Ma’Isah Bateman

Midtown East, Manhattan

Ma’isah Bateman is an ambassador who is passionate about urban planning and creating safe and sustainable cities.

She is originally from Newark, NJ- Brick City! But also from every other state in the U.S. This has built her passion for exploring the diverse landscapes of other cities and envisioning new possibilities for her own community.

In her free time you can find her scavenging thrift stores for clothes that she doesn’t need, buying overpriced non caffeinated lattes, and spending waking hours researching niche topics.

Favorite NYC Street: Water Street, Brooklyn

Mikhael Rozenblyum

Homecrest, Brooklyn

Mikhael Rozenblyum is an intern from Brooklyn College's Urban Sustainability Major with a concentration in Sociology. He is interested in how public space is used and perceived by communities, as well as other aspects in the development of public infrastructure and mobility. In his spare time he enjoys biking to green spaces and picking mulberries when they're in season. When he's not looking for wild edibles or scavenging for thrown out furniture, you can find him advocating for environmental justice and safe streets with TA!
