Join us and Open Plans as we rally for safer streets through Universal Daylighting!
Every New Yorker deserves safe streets — but too many intersections across the city remain dangerous due to poor visibility. It’s time to fix that.
We’re calling on City Council to pass Intro 1138, a bill that would Daylight 1,000 intersections/year in New York City by removing visual obstructions near crosswalks. This simple, proven street safety measure can save lives — and we need your voice to make it happen.
📣 Join us on the steps of City Hall from 9–10am on Monday, April 21 for the Rally for Universal Daylighting, then stay and sign up to testify at the public hearing to demand safer streets in every neighborhood.
Can't attend the hearing but still want to show your support for 1138? Submit your comment online here! https://council.nyc.gov/testify/ NOTE: You can also submit testimony in advance — just select 'April 21st Transportation Hearing' from the dropdown menu.
We’ll help you get ready to speak, share your story, and show the Council that New Yorkers want action on daylighting — citywide and without delay.
