Do you want better, safer access to the streets connecting Northern Manhattan and the Bronx?
Join your neighbors from both sides of the river on the afternoon of July 27th, starting at High Bridge, where we will be participating in the second of three comprehensive "street scans" of streets nears our bridges. We will be recording recommendations from cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists; mapping "desire lines" from street users; and, ultimately, letting our public officials know what street safety improvements should be made.
If Northern Manhattan is going to get the city resources required to make our streets safer, the city needs to know where the community stands ASAP!
We'll be looking for where protected bike lanes could be implemented (with an eye to connecting them with the broader network), where pedestrian safety improvements are needed, and where traffic flow from motor vehicles could be better rationalized and controlled for the benefit of everybody.
Come and help make change happen!
