Please join us on Saturday, May 5th for a tribute to New York City and Transportation Alternatives’ role in making our streets safer for walking.

You’ll be treated to an exclusive guided walking tour that begins in Times Square and ends near the High Line, two of New York’s most iconic public spaces. The journey will highlight the street designs we love and advocate for: public plazas, safer street crossings, transit corridors and protected bike lanes, all situated within people-friendly neighborhoods. We’ll stroll past the house where Jane Jacobs wrote The Death and Life of Great American Cities. We’ll end at Gansevoort Plaza with well-deserved pastries and coffee from City Bakery.

Special guest guides include architect Jim Braddock of Mitchell/Giurgola Architects, High Line docents and Christine Berthet of CHEKPEDS.

Date: Saturday, May 5, 8:30-11 am
Please meet at 8:15 am
We will leave promptly at 8:30 am
Start: Broadway and West 47th Street - TKTS steps
End: Gansevoort Plaza, Little West 12th Street and 9th Avenue
