Several East River bridges have turned into a slushy slip-and-slide for pedestrians and cyclists, a local advocacy group claimed. Transportation Alternatives, a bicyclist- and pedestrian-friendly organization, took the city Departments of Transportation and Sanitation to task for not clearing Williamsburg, Manhattan, Brooklyn and 59th Street bridge pathways during the past few days of snow.
