To continue our celebration of all things Bike Month, Transportation Alternatives is bringing back our hugely popular Bike Home from Work Party -- an under-the-stars blowout at the Dumbo Loft and Pearl Street Triangle in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn on Friday, May 19th. The party is open to the public, admission is free, and RSVP is encouraged via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/1596828740329968/).

TransAlt will lead a bike ride, presented by Citi Bike and Men's Wearhouse AWEAR-TECH line, from the Brooklyn side of the Williamsburg Bridge to the Pearl Street Triangle. DJ Vida Ventura will provide a pulsing soundtrack for the ride from the back of a Citi Bike bike-train and then will continue to spin at the party itself. The ride is also open to the public and RSVP is encouraged (http://bit.ly/2qBoeGE). To join the ride, meet TransAlt at the Citi Bike docks at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge at 5:30 PM. The ride departs at 6:00 PM sharp.

For partygoers’ convenience, there will be complimentary bike valet and a Citi Bike station at the Pearl Street Triangle.

In addition to DJ Vida Ventura, the Bike Home from Work Party will feature more than 30 food, drink, and retail experience vendors, including Bike Month partner Brooklyn Brewery. Brooklyn Brewery will host a beer garden under the Manhattan Bridge and serve their latest summer brews. Food trucks will include El Super tostadas, 2nd City Beef Italian sandwiches, Brooklyn Biscuit Co., and more. Cycling clothing purveyors will include Po Campo and Vespertine. Giveaway opportunities will be provided by Primal Wear, SoulCycle, Clif Bar, Purity Organic, Aloe Gloe, and Living Juice. TransAlt members will be treated to a free beer by Brooklyn Brewery and discounts at vendor booths.

Additional attractions include film presentations by Brendt Barber of the Bicycle Film Festival, flash tattoos by artist Galen Bryce, classic ping-pong and foosball tables, demonstrations by Brompton Bikes, and more.

The Pearl Street Triangle and Dumbo Loft are located at 155 Water St, Brooklyn, New York 11201.

Transportation Alternatives' Bike Home from Work Party is made possible by the generous support of Citi Bike, Clif Bar, Men’s Wearhouse, the Law Office of Vaccaro and White, Brooklyn Brewery, Unlimited Biking, Kiwi Energy, Purity Organic, nuun energy, Aloe Gloe, Brooklyn Roasting Company, Primal Wear, and SoulCycle.

About Transportation Alternatives

With 140,000 active supporters and committees of activists working locally in every borough, Transportation Alternatives works to reclaim New York City streets for biking, walking and public transit. Since its founding in 1973, TransAlt has paved the way for remarkable changes in New York City’s transportation infrastructure and culture, including the extraordinary growth of commuting by bicycle and the launch of Citi Bike. Through consistent and focused advocacy, TransAlt has advanced “complete street” redesigns with protected bike lanes, dedicated bus lanes and public plazas, and has also worked for more equitable Vision Zero traffic enforcement across the five boroughs, including speed safety cameras to protect children at every school. About Men’s Wearhouse AWEAR-TECH

AWEAR-TECH by AWEARNESS Kenneth Cole suits are available exclusively at Men’s Wearhouse. AWEAR-TECH clothing uses 37.5 technology, an advanced fabric technology from the high-performance sports world. With this technology, patented active particles remove moisture in the vapor stage, before liquid sweat can form, making these tailored clothing items far more comfortable to wear. When you’re overheating, active particles in the fabric speed up evaporation and cooling. When you’re cold, the particles return the energy to warm the body. The suits are engineered from the yarn up, incorporating 37.5 technology in every layer, from the suit lining to the wool.
