NYC Traffic Calming Law … 276 Days Unused

It has now been almost nine months since Governor Pataki signed the NYC Traffic Calming bill into law. Despite Mayor Giuliani's important lobbying efforts, the NYC Department of Transportation has yet to use the law in any form, and two letters-one in November and one in April-from the hundred member-groups of the Neighborhood Streets Network asking the Mayor to put the law to work have gone unanswered.
